Oh, hey. I'm Lauren. Welcome to my website.

New York Times bestselling romance author and designer. Based in New York.

I love stumbling upon creative little corners of the internet, unbothered by algorithms, trends, and the pressure to look polished rather than interesting.

let's make the internet weird again.

I started noticing silver hairs in my 20s. By 40 I was dying it every 2-3 weeks. At 41 I decided to let it be.

Cozy Season

Come September 1st, I ignore the still-hot weather and light moody candles while shopping for crystals and googling "cosmic witch."

I watch the Harry Potter every October, and am through the 2nd movie! Stone is my favorite, but Azkaban's got such a great vibe, so excited by that!

Still making my way through Titan by Ron Chernow; it's been slow-going, not because the book isn't incredible, but because we've slipped into a bad habit of filling our evenings with TV reruns instead of books. As of this morning, the TV is out of the apartment, and I'm aiming for 3 hours of reading a day.

Working on: Professionally, about to start work on a new rom-com, and looking at reviving Anth and my design studio. #bills Personally, I've been in full hermit mode, and I don't think I've ever been so happy. Journaling, writing mini essays, furthering my astrology journey, working on a grimoire.

Wish List: This delightfully huge hoodie. It screams peak cozy to me.

I love going to bed early and getting up early. If this gets interrupted by necessity, no problem. But I've increasingly started to chafe at the fact that evening plans are the default norm for being social.

Then again, I've never really challenged that norm. I just say yes to the show, to the reservations, to the complete abandonment of the kind of evenings I like to have. I don't rock the boat, and as a reward, spend the entire day of dreading the evening ahead because I know the appetizers will won't even have arrived by the time I'm usually happily brushing my teeth.

So I have this fantasy of being bold enough that the next time someone suggests 7:30pm plans across across town, I say, "I'll be be bed, but how about bagels at 5am?"

I get one life. I think I'm done treating it like a guest spot in someone else’s.

on my mind

I started a digital garden.

Or maybe a digital commonplace book?

Whatever we want to call it, it's collected bits of curiousities that I want to remember and/or share.

a few of my favorite things

Stumbling up on lists of things that other people like is one of my favorite way to connect with strangers.
